Collection and use of information
Visiting our site, responding to or viewing an advertisement, leaving a comment about an article or post, or logging into our site with a username may result in a cookie and/or GIF file (”cookies”) being sent to your internet browser. Cookies are small files that hold information about users, including unique identifiers. They are commonly used on the internet to help make the user’s browsing experience more functional and personalized and to identify repeat visitors to a web site.
Advertisements that you see on Digital TV Facts may be supplied by third-party advertising networks, and we may use these networks’ tracking technologies. Cookies may be used to provide information to third-party advertising networks for the purpose of paying commissions or advertising fees to us when an internet user clicks on a link, responds to or views an advertisement, creates a lead or makes a purchase. Cookies may also be used by a third-party advertising network to help make the user’s browsing experience more functional and personalized.
If the internet user visits or revisits an advertiser’s site, the advertising network may be able to continue to track the user’s activities on the advertiser’s site and pay commissions, advertising fees or other rewards to us. Advertising networks reserve the right to retain all advertising delivery and reporting data for as long as may be reasonably necessary for accounting and audit purposes.
Like most web servers, we, along with third-party advertising networks, may use log files to record information about internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser and platform types, browser language, Internet service providers (ISPs), internet domains and hosts, referring pages and search queries, page requests, exit pages, and dates and times of visits. This information may be used to analyze site usage, to administer a site, to understand usage and navigation trends, and to determine the relevance of content. This information is not linked to any personally identifiable information. Our site does not automatically record e-mail addresses of visitors.
We, and/or third-party advertising networks, may use internet browsing and online purchase data associated with an anonymous identifier to develop predictive and/or statistical user profiles of the internet user’s needs and interests.
Third-party advertising networks may match IP addresses and/or user profiles with email address data obtained separately in order to better target advertising or content to meet the internet user’s interests.
For purposes of audience targeting, some third-party advertising network sites use marketing technology that allows advertisers to add demographic information, such as age, gender, area code, or postal code, to other profile data. In some cases, third-party advertising networks record email addresses of internet users who have provided identity and/or contact information through the third-party advertising network’s site or through other sites that participate in that third-party advertising network.
We may collect and retain information that you voluntarily provide, such as preferences, survey information and/or site registrations.
If you leave a comment through the comment or contact forms that are part of our site, or sign up for a service that we provide or a promotion that requires registration, we may ask for personal information such as your name, email and/or website address. When you post comments or send us a communication through comment or contact forms, email, or other means, we may retain that information in order to handle or respond to your inquiries and to provide or improve our services. Comments that you leave through the comment forms are, by their nature, intended for publication, but we reserve the right to edit or delete your comments. If you include your web site address, which is optional, with your comment, we may publish it. We do not publish your email address.
Some cookies used by third-party advertising networks or other service providers may have an “opt-out” option. The opt-out process may not remove the third-party advertising network’s cookie from your system, but may instead replace it with an opt-out cookie that does not contain any unique identifiers.
We do not exercise control over unrelated sites that may be accessible through links from our site. These other sites may send their own cookies to your browser, collect data or solicit personal information from you. If you go to another internet site, including a site that is part of a third-party advertising network, and request or supply information or enter a contest, be aware that you may be authorizing another site, including sites that are part of a third-party advertising network, to use information you supply. Other internet sites, including those that are part of third-party advertising networks, may have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read.
Information that we collect may be shared with agents or contractors who assist in providing support for our operations.
Information that we collect may be disclosed to satisfy legal requirements, at the request of governmental authorities, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our internet site and applicable laws, or to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our internet site.
Information that we collect may be disclosed to a successor entity in connection with a merger, consolidation, sale of assets, or other change in company structure or ownership related to this internet site.
We do not sell email address information to others.
Review of personal information
Upon request we will make good-faith efforts to honor reasonable requests from customers to review customer identifiable information maintained in reasonably retrievable form and to correct any such information which may be inaccurate.
Upon receiving such a request, we will ask you to identify yourself and the information that you would like to review.
